The Learning Child could not find a better parent to help
pull together the best strategies, solutions and ideas from a vast network
of education experts and provide them to you in a quick-to-read format.
The Parent Institute enthusiastically hired Rebecca in 1992. Over the
last 12 years, she has edited several of our newsletters including:
Parents make the difference!, Educators' Notebook on
Parent Involvement, Better Teaching and a variety
of other booklets, videos and brochures.
Just like most parents, Rebecca juggles her multiple roles as employee,
spouse and parent. She lives with her husband, Juan, and her two children,
Peyton (4 yrs.) and Madelyn (1.5 yrs.) As a working mom with two young
children, life can be quite hectic. But she says she wouldn't change a
thing.
"My children teach me something new everyday," Rebecca says
from her home office as she is surrounded by piles of parenting books,
research articles and other papers. "I love being able to work from
home and watch them learn and grow."
When asked what her favorite quote is, she thinks deeply, then responds,
"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car
I drove or what kind of clothes I wore. All that will matter is that I
made a difference in the life of a child
."
(author unknown)
Rebecca adds, "I'm committed to finding the most effective ways
for parents to help their children learn and be successful. I'm lucky
parents allow me to be a part of their lives through The Learning
Child newsletter."
We couldn't say it better ourselves!
